William is a psychologist who the victim visited. Lisa was seeing William for a while because she had some psychological problems. William doesn't reveal what problems she had due to patient confidentiality.
William was spoken to again when he asks to see the team. When asked, he replies that Lisa talked about her mother and how they never spent too much time together. Lisa briefly explained their relationship to Dr Mathison. She explained that the only reason why they don't spend time is because of Max.
